From a product request to a usable battery pack
An OEM or ODM battery project should begin with the application, not with a copied product image. The same nominal voltage and capacity can require very different internal designs when the battery is used in a home energy-storage system, a telecom cabinet, a forklift, a mobile machine or a backup-power product.
Our OEM/ODM process helps distributors, importers, EPC companies and product developers convert a project requirement into a clear battery specification. The objective is a battery that fits the installation, communicates with the customer’s equipment and can be supplied consistently for future orders.
What can be customized?
Electrical configuration
The series-parallel configuration determines nominal voltage and capacity. The usable energy, continuous discharge power, peak current and charging profile should be defined together. A battery designed for a high-power load may need a different cell configuration and BMS rating from a battery intended mainly for long-duration backup.
Battery-management system
The BMS provides protection and monitoring for over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short circuit and abnormal temperature conditions. Depending on the application, the project may also require state-of-charge estimation, balancing, event records and communication through CAN or RS485. Communication requirements should be confirmed before the final design is approved.
Enclosure and mechanical layout
The enclosure may be wall-mounted, rack-mounted, floor-standing or integrated into a customer’s own equipment. Important details include external dimensions, mounting points, cable entry, terminal location, service access, ventilation and protection against dust or moisture. A compact design is useful only when it remains safe and serviceable after installation.
Interface and accessories
Customers may require a specific connector, breaker, fuse, display, communication cable, charger or mounting kit. These items should be listed in the quotation instead of being left as assumptions. For forklift and motive-power projects, the connector, charger and counterweight arrangement are especially important.
Branding and packaging
OEM projects can include customer labels, manuals, carton artwork, nameplates and shipping marks. Branding should be finalized only after the electrical specification, safety labeling and responsibility for after-sales service are agreed.
A controlled OEM/ODM workflow
Step 1: Application review
Confirm the equipment, load profile, operating environment, installation method, target market and expected annual quantity. Photographs, drawings and existing battery information are valuable when replacing an installed product.
Step 2: Preliminary specification
Define voltage, capacity, power, cell type, BMS functions, dimensions, interface, charging method and protection requirements. At this stage, identify which values are fixed and which can be optimized.
Step 3: Engineering confirmation
Review the proposed configuration, enclosure, wiring, communication protocol and installation limitations. A sample or drawing review can prevent expensive changes after production begins.
Step 4: Sample and validation
Test the battery with the customer’s inverter, charger, machine or monitoring system. Confirm charge and discharge behavior, communication, alarms, mounting and operating temperature before approving a repeat order.
Step 5: Production and repeat supply
Once the specification is approved, keep the bill of materials, labeling, test requirements and packaging consistent. Repeat supply is easier when the approved specification is documented instead of relying on informal messages.
Why B2B customers use a customized approach
Distributors need a product that fits their local market rather than a generic battery that creates installation problems. EPC companies need predictable communication and commissioning. PACK manufacturers may need cells or modules that fit an existing enclosure. Project developers need a design that can be repeated across multiple sites.
OEM/ODM therefore provides value when the project has clear technical requirements, a defined market and a realistic quantity plan. It is not simply a change of logo. The most successful projects define technical responsibility, documentation, warranty conditions, spare parts and after-sales communication before the first production order.
Frequently asked questions
Can you customize a battery using the customer’s existing dimensions?
Yes. Please provide the battery outline, mounting points, terminal position, connector details and available installation space. Final feasibility depends on the required energy, current and safety structure.
Can the battery communicate with an inverter or control system?
CAN or RS485 communication may be available for compatible models. The inverter or controller brand, protocol information and required functions should be provided before the BMS is finalized.
Is a sample order possible?
Sample and pilot orders can be discussed according to the design complexity, components and expected production quantity.
Do you provide complete systems as well as battery packs?
Yes. Depending on the project, the supply can include LiFePO4 cells, battery packs, low-voltage storage batteries and compatible solar-storage system components.
