Growatt 3kW–12kW Off-Grid Solar System with LiFePO4 Battery
The Growatt off-grid solar system is a configurable solar and battery solution for locations requiring independent power generation or backup electricity. Available system capacities include 3kW, 5kW, 6kW, 8kW, 10kW and 12kW.
Each system can combine monocrystalline solar panels, a Growatt off-grid inverter, a matched LiFePO4 battery, PV cables, mounting structures and electrical protection devices. The final configuration is calculated according to the customer’s actual load, daily electricity consumption, available sunlight and required backup time.
Key Features
- Multiple power options: Configurable system capacities from 3kW to 12kW.
- Growatt inverter: The inverter model is selected according to system power, output voltage and destination market.
- LiFePO4 battery storage: Battery capacity can be customized according to nighttime consumption and required backup hours.
- Flexible AC output: Selected models are available for 220–240V single-phase or 120/240V split-phase applications.
- Solar priority operation: Solar energy can supply the loads and charge the battery during daylight hours.
- Optional utility or generator input: Supported by selected inverter models for additional backup power.
- System monitoring: WiFi or other monitoring options may be provided according to the selected Growatt inverter.
- Complete project configuration: Solar panels, batteries, mounting structures, cables and protection devices can be supplied as a matched system.
How the System Works
During the day, the solar panels generate DC electricity. The Growatt inverter converts this energy into AC power for connected appliances while surplus solar energy charges the LiFePO4 battery.
When solar production is insufficient, the battery supplies the connected loads through the inverter. Depending on the selected inverter model and system design, utility or generator input may also be used as a supplementary energy source.
This type of system is suitable for independent and backup applications. It should not be described as a grid-export system unless the selected inverter and local installation are specifically designed and approved for grid connection.

How to Select the Correct System Size
Inverter power alone is not enough to determine a complete solar system configuration. To select the correct system, the following information should be provided:
- Country and installation location
- Single-phase or split-phase output requirement
- List of appliances and their rated power
- Maximum simultaneous load
- Daily electricity consumption in kWh
- Required battery backup time
- Available roof or ground installation area
- Whether utility or generator input is available
Loads with motors, pumps, compressors or air conditioners may require higher inverter starting capacity. These loads should be identified before the final inverter model and battery discharge power are selected.
Recommended Applications
- Homes in areas without a stable utility grid
- Residential solar backup systems
- Farms and agricultural buildings
- Small offices and retail stores
- Workshops and light commercial facilities
- Remote monitoring and communication sites
- Locations using a generator as supplementary backup
Customization and Quotation
This product is supplied as a customized system rather than a single fixed kit. Solar panel wattage, inverter model, battery capacity and accessories may change according to the project.
Please send us your load list, daily energy consumption, installation country and required backup time. We will prepare a recommended system configuration and detailed bill of materials for confirmation before quotation.
FAQ
Is this a complete solar power system?
Yes. It can include solar panels, a Growatt inverter, a LiFePO4 battery, mounting structures, cables, connectors and protection devices. The exact scope is confirmed in the quotation.
What system capacities are available?
The available capacity range includes 3kW, 5kW, 6kW, 8kW, 10kW and 12kW configurations.
Is the battery capacity fixed?
No. Battery capacity is selected according to daily electricity consumption, nighttime load and required backup duration.
Can the system work without the utility grid?
Yes. It is designed for off-grid and backup applications. Solar panels and the battery can supply the loads without continuous utility power.
Can a generator be connected?
Selected Growatt inverter models can accept utility or generator input. Generator voltage, frequency and capacity must be checked before connection.
Does every system support 120/240V split-phase output?
No. Split-phase and 220–240V single-phase systems use different inverter models. The required output standard must be confirmed before ordering.
Can additional batteries be added later?
Battery expansion may be possible when compatible battery modules, voltage, BMS communication and inverter limits are considered in the original system design.
How many solar panels are included?
The number of panels depends on panel wattage, inverter PV input limits, daily electricity demand and local solar conditions. It is confirmed in the final bill of materials.
What information is required for a quotation?
Please provide the installation country, output voltage, maximum load, daily electricity consumption, backup time and preferred system capacity.
